Training

We hold different training sessions throughout the week. These club training session will be led by one of our coaches, coaching assistants or leaders. Many of our members also meet up informally for training runs. See below for descriptions of what you can expect from our training sessions.

If you are joining us for the first time, we recommend joining us on a Thursday club night.

For more information on any of our training sessions, please contact us.

Monday Circuit Training

Circuit training takes place at our club house at Kings Tamerton Community Centre from 6:45pm.

Tuesday Group Run (Not during school holidays)

We meet at Alexandra Road car park, Crownhill at 6:30pm for a mixed ability group run.

The route is generally a 4 to 5 mile loop with an optional additional 1 to 2 mile loop for those who want to run a bit further. This is a mixed ability group run, which means faster runners will periodically loop back behind slower runners – no one gets left behind.

Thursday Club Night

Our club nights take place at our club house at Kings Tamerton Community Centre. Meeting outside at 6:30pm

Following a group warmup led by one of our coaches or leaders, runners are split into running groups at 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 min/mile pace, or the Beginners & Improvers group. See our club night training schedule for details on the routes that the running groups run, or see our Beginners & Improvers page for more information about our Beginners & Improvers group.

On return to the club house after the run there will be tea/coffee and biscuits. – Suspended due to Coronavirus

Saturday Track Sessions

Interval training sessions are held at Brickfields Running Track on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm all year round. These sessions are free for our members, and for all members of clubs that are part of the Armada Athletic Forum.
